Emergency Communication
Master emergency communications, radio operations, preparedness strategy, and field coordination through hands-on training, live nets, and real-world scenarios. Learn GMRS, ham radio, tactical communications, emergency deployment, and resilient communication systems for when normal networks fail.

What is Amateur Radio

Ham Radio, also known as Amateur Radio, is a worldwide communication service that allows licensed operators to communicate using radio frequencies without relying on the internet, cell towers, or traditional phone systems.
Ham Radio is used for emergency communications, disaster response, public service events, technical experimentation, and connecting with people locally and around the world. Operators can communicate by voice, digital messaging, satellites, and even low-power field setups designed for off-grid operation.
In emergencies, Ham Radio often becomes one of the most reliable forms of communication when normal systems fail. It combines technology, preparedness, community service, and real-world communication skills into one powerful capability.
What you will learn in this course
Radio Operations & Communication Skills
Learn how to properly operate handheld, mobile, and base station radios using real-world communication procedures. Students will gain confidence communicating on repeaters, simplex, emergency nets, and field operations.
Emergency Communications & Preparedness
Discover how radio communications are used during emergencies, disasters, and system failures. Learn emergency protocols, deployment readiness, message handling, situational awareness, and communication planning when normal infrastructure goes down.
Equipment, Antennas & Field Setup
Understand how radios, antennas, power systems, and communication gear work together. Students will learn how to build effective field-ready communication setups for home, vehicle, portable, and off-grid operations.
Ham Radio Licensing & Real-World Applications
Prepare for your Ham Radio license while exploring the many practical uses of amateur radio including community service, emergency response, worldwide communication, digital modes, preparedness networking, and tactical field communications.

Meet Your Instructors
Paul and Jini Muhammad are both General Class Ham Radio Operators dedicated to teaching practical emergency communications and preparedness skills.
Paul serves as the Lead Instructor and brings a background in Electronic Engineering, Computers, and Emergency Management. With nearly 20 years of teaching experience, he has trained students in radio operations, emergency communication systems, field readiness, and real-world preparedness strategies.
Together, Paul and Jini provide hands-on instruction designed to help students build confidence, communication capability, and operational readiness when traditional systems fail.
